Through the shade, we watch

The narrative development is mainly atmospheric, following
the mutual progression of the pilgrimage an the shade to the top of the mountain. I wanted to create an organic tension in which participate natural forces (the mountain, the shade and the light) through an eerie cycle occurring beyond the existence of the pilgrims.

As the view broaden and the rocky cliffs reveal themselves more and more to the spectators, unknown darkness crawls in the image and comes to cover it until the blazing return of the light.

In order to render the grainy and ephemeral texture I wanted for the chiaroscuro, I've combined inked and painted texture with digitally manipulated image. The “shade” in the title means at once the shadow in which the film progress and all the plastic work of dark and light’s hue of the film.
